This shop wasn’t set up so that the hostel could sell anything. It was set up because every week someone turns up wearing uncomfortable shoes, unsuitable clothing or an oversized rucksack.

As Amazon handles the delivery, it can be sent to any country where Amazon has a logistics network. Most products are shipped throughout Europe, North America, much of Asia and Latin America. Delivery times and costs depend on your location and the delivery option you choose on Amazon.
It isn’t necessary. Anyone can shop using their standard Amazon account. If you’re a Prime member, you’ll get faster delivery (24–48 hours in Spain) at no extra cost on many products, but it isn’t compulsory.
Of course, that’s what we recommend. Place your orders 1–2 weeks before you travel so you can try the gear out at home, break in your footwear, check that everything fits and avoid any surprises whilst you’re on the road. That’s the main way to use our shop.
No problem. Just shop on your mobile and choose an Amazon-authorised collection point that’s a few stops ahead of you. The idea is simple: work out how long it will take Amazon to deliver it (1–3 days with Prime, 3–5 days without Prime) and choose a collection point where you’ll be when the parcel arrives. That way, you can carry on walking without a care in the world, and the item will be waiting for you.
There are three official Amazon options, and you can choose the one that suits you best: (1) Amazon Lockers, 24/7 self-service lockers in major cities; (2) Hub Counter, partner shops where staff hand over your parcel during opening hours; (3) Post offices that accept Amazon parcels, found in most towns along the Camino. When you enter your route on Amazon, the website shows you all the available collection points near the location you specify.
Think about your pace and the delivery times. A quick rule of thumb: the checkpoint should be far enough away for Amazon to have time to deliver it, and close enough for you to reach it before the collection deadline expires. Example: if you walk 20–25 km a day and shop with Prime (1–2 days), choose a collection point 2 stages ahead. Without Prime (3–5 days), choose 4–5 stages ahead. Add a day’s buffer in case of delays. If you then find you’re going more slowly, you can change the collection point via the Amazon app.
It is an Amazon self-service locker located in public areas (supermarkets, petrol stations, train stations). Amazon sends you a unique code when your order arrives. You scan the code and your locker opens. It operates 24/7 in many cases and is completely free of charge.
Amazon Lockers hold your parcel for several days (check the exact timeframe when selecting your Locker on Amazon; this is usually long enough for any pilgrim). Post offices tend to hold it for a little longer. If you’re travelling at your usual pace, you’ll rarely have any problems. If you find you’re travelling more slowly than expected, you can use the Amazon app to change the collection point to a later one before the parcel arrives.
Amazon allows returns within 30 days. You can initiate the return via your Amazon account and drop off the parcel at any Amazon collection point along the Camino or on your way home.
